Innovative Dunedin company First Aid Pod, whose pop-up shelters offer privacy during medical emergencies, is linking up with Epilepsy New Zealand.

First Aid Pods have been selling fast in New Zealand and Australia since being launched in April 2017 by Dunedin-based businessmen Tony Watts, Craig Latimer and Braedan Trompetter.

Latimer said local business leaders suggested they approach Epilepsy New Zealand about partnering. “I was ecstatic to hear they there were interested in selling First Aid Pods throughout New Zealand and to their members.”

Epilepsy New Zealand are now an authorised sales agent in New Zealand and in return 20 percent of the value of the sales generated by their team will be donated back to their organisation.

The CEO of Epilepsy New Zealand Graeme Ambler says they are “rapt” at being able to offer businesses and people the opportunity to purchase a First Aid Pod. “We see the product has many benefits and advantages to both the responder and patient. An added bonus is that each purchase helps Epilepsy New Zealand continue its work to support those living with epilepsy.”

Linking with Epilepsy New Zealand aligned with the aims of First Aid Pod, Watts says.
“Right from the beginning when we started the business we wanted a way to give back to a charity. This partnership has presented us with a great way to do this.”

The First Aid Pod is an instant pop-up shelter that is placed over a patient to provide guidance for first responders and emergency services, privacy from onlookers and shelter. First Aid Pods have been purchased by New Zealand, Australian and UK businesses in industries including Retail, Manufacturing, Tourism and Construction. They are also in some schools, pools and airports.

To purchase a First Aid Pod visit www.epilepsy.org.nz or phone 0800 37 45 37.
