Two Wellington mums have launched New Zealand’s snack box home delivery business, Good Grazing, to help people snack healthily.

Debbie Turner and Christina Hall will send out their first deliveries of boxes bulging with a month’s worth of delicious healthy snacks to doorsteps and office desks nationwide during the 1st week of November. The boxes can be bought on a monthly, annual or ‘one-off’ basis and start at $44 a box per month.

The pair first met at antenatal classes 10 years ago and dreamt up their subscription-based snack box delivery concept over their kitchen tables after both struggled to access healthy snacks for themselves and their families.

“People often have their breakfast, lunch and dinner meals sorted out, but it can be very time-consuming and a hassle to hunt down healthy snack options. Our Good Grazing boxes will make it easy for people who are time-poor to have junk-free snacks at their fingertips,” said Hall.

Each box includes a variety of snacks, e.g. triple nut banana bars, protein balls, kalamata olive crackers and smokin bbq coconut chips. Some snacks are single serve portions and some packs of multiple serves. Every product is reviewed for its content, nutritional value and is taste-tested to ensure it meets their high criteria for inclusion in the snack boxes.

They source products from farmers’ markets, and health food artisans, through to traditional brands. Years of personal research, experience and time spent sourcing products themselves have meant these women have a wealth of knowledge in this field. An exciting spin off is raising the profile of some of these small local business who are producing amazing products.

“We’re always looking for new great products to include so the boxes will vary from month to month to keep people’s taste buds happy. We’ve had really great feedback from producers, who are really excited that our Good Grazing boxes are about to be launched to help people with their healthy snack needs,” said Hall.

Debbie Turner has a background in the health and food industry. Her interest in setting up the unique company was prompted by her family’s journey to health and wellbeing – and seeing the difference healthy eating has made in every area of life.

“We started Good Grazing as a way of sharing what we have learnt, to make it easier to snack healthy. We realised there is a gap in the market with no-one else selling dedicated health food snack boxes – it’s the My Food Bag of snacks. It’s perfect for busy parents or students wanting tasty healthy snacks and also for people at work, who often only have easy access to vending machines full of sugary snacks,” said Turner.

People have until October 31 to subscribe for the first intake of Good Grazing snack boxes and can sign up at www.goodgrazing.co.nz
