NZBusiness magazine this week launches its new podcast, Sustainably Ever After. Hosted by 14-year-old social entrepreneur Lilah McDonald and sponsored by OfficeMax, the podcast aims to engage New Zealand’s SME community with discussions at the crossroads of sustainability and entrepreneurship.

Lilah McDonald is passionate about protecting our world and making a difference. The teen social entrepreneur founded her business Water Us at just 10 years old to tackle plastic waste and enhance access to clean drinking water, and now hopes to inspire other business owners with Sustainably Ever After.

“I can’t wait to launch Sustainably Ever After and share my enthusiasm for sustainability with a wider audience,” Lilah says.

“This platform will connect me with incredible social entrepreneurs and business leaders who are paving the way for a greener future.

“I interview guests who are making waves in the world of sustainability; those who have built businesses with a purpose, those striving to make their established companies greener, and those leading the charge for social and environmental change.”

Editor of NZBusiness magazine, David Nothling-Demmer, expressed excitement about the initiative. “We’re thrilled to present this podcast, which carries an inspired and vital message,” he says. “Lilah’s unique perspective as a young entrepreneur and her passion for sustainability perfectly align with our mission to empower business owners.”

Each episode will feature in-depth conversations with influential figures in New Zealand’s sustainability landscape, offering actionable insights for businesses looking to incorporate sustainable practices into their operations.

Kevin Obern, Managing Director of OfficeMax, highlighted the importance of supporting the podcast. “It’s fantastic, and reassuring, to see that young people like Lilah care about the state of our planet and want to protect it for future generations. We think it’s a great initiative and we all look forward to tuning in,” he stated.

The podcast will release episodes bi-weekly, providing listeners with motivation and practical advice on making impactful changes in their businesses and communities. “We invite everyone to join us on this exciting journey,” Nothling-Demmer adds. “It’s an opportunity to be inspired by the next generation of sustainability champions and learn how we can all contribute to a more sustainable future.”
