In July Warehouse Stationery announced it was offering $240,000 of it’s ad space to ten small businesses, plus the creative firepower of a leading agency to create the ads.

The initiative, which invited any Kiwi business in need of exposure to apply, saw a variety of small businesses from tradies to restaurateurs to confectionery businesses register to be one of the 10 businesses to receive the advertising package.

Ten small businesses across a variety of industries throughout New Zealand have now been selected to receive between $10,000 to $42,000 media spend plus creative production. The advertising package includes bespoke ads that will appear on radio, online, in social, in press and/or outdoor media depending on each businesses needs.

The ten successful businesses to receive the ad package are:

  • Dune Monsters: a company that designs and creates bespoke plywood products for kids.
  • Harley’s Popcorn: a company that creates organic popcorn that is low on carbs with unique tasty flavours.
  • Muddy Paws: a Tauranga based business that provides kennel free boarding for your dog.
  • The Little Chapel: a Christchurch based wedding and events venue that donate their proceeds to children and families in the community.
  • J Bings: an Asian fusion food and Bubble Teas company based in Christchurch central.
  • Wilson Construction: a construction company that specialises in new architectural builds in Hanmer Springs, Canterbury.
  • Otago Childcare Centre: an established, not for profit childcare centre in Dunedin.
  • Rainbow Rosalind: an award-winning children’s singer/songwriter who specialises in kids parties in Dunedin.
  • Cleantastic: a commercial cleaning company that offers services across New Zealand.
  • Frankie Apothecary: an all natural skin and hair care range.

“Warehouse Stationery prides itself on having everything a small business needs. And right now small businesses need business,” says Wendy Ballard, Warehouse Stationery Head of Marketing. “So we’re very excited to have had the opportunity to give away some of our ad space to those who need it most, and to have worked with our advertising agency to create the ads for them.

“Our team in our nationwide network of stores have built close relationships with many small businesses. The stories they have shared of the pressure some are facing inspired this campaign. We want New Zealand business to thrive, so giving the gift of the power of advertising felt like a practical way we could help,” said Ballard.

“Our media and creative agency partners – OMG and DDB – have worked hard to ensure the 10 successful SMEs have an amazing advertising campaign that works hard for them, and will help drive their business.”

The advertising campaigns are now live.
