Thrive Whanganui, a team of economic diversity enablers, have announced the launch of their self-guided business resource: The Boss Book – Te Pukapuka Pāhi.

This new book takes entrepreneurs through the process of creating a business plan step by step – providing examples, templates and exercises to take the guesswork out of where to start your business journey.

The book is the culmination of five years of working in the community and developing resources to help people through their business planning journey. It contains whakataukī and example businesses to help inspire new pakihi.

“We wanted to take the mystery out of starting a new business by breaking the process down into easy-to-follow exercises and steps,” says Elise Goodge, Programme and Partnerships Lead for Thrive Whanganui. “We also wanted to approach it with Whanganuitanga and whakamana as the foundations so it reflects our community of entrepreneurs and change makers.”

The Boss Book – Te Pukapuka Pāhi is designed to empower entrepreneurs with the information they need to validate their big idea and be their own boss. It provides helpful advice on how to put your business plan to work and secure the funding you need to make your business dreams a reality.

“We see our role in the community as one of tautoko, supporting our community in their aspirations,” adds Elise, “and The Boss Book – Te Pukapuka Pāhi is just one way we can help people start, grow and scale their businesses.”

Te Pukapuka Pāhi will be officially launched at 5.30pm on Thursday 25 May at The Backhouse, corner of Drews Avenue and Taupo Quay, with support from Business Whanganui Chamber of Commerce, The Backhouse Trust and Te Manu Atatū – Whanganui Māori Business Network.

It is available for purchase now via email or phone orders. Each book costs $99 (excluding shipping) and can be paid for by cash, direct transfer or invoice.

For more information or to RSVP, email [email protected] or call 027 302 0979.
