New Zealand businesses and workplaces are turning Pink for a Day in October, raising funds for breast cancer research, education and patient support.

More than 600 workplaces, schools and community groups took part last year. Breast Cancer Foundation NZ’s chief executive Evangelia Henderson urges people to get involved again this year – “in any way they like” – to acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“It’s a great way to have some fun while focusing on wellbeing in the workplace,” says Henderson. “You’ll receive a pack of breast health information to share with colleagues and start conversations about how to be breast-aware.

“More than 3,300 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year and, sadly, 600 a year die. There is no let-up in the need for better treatments, education for early detection, and support for those going through treatment. Funds raised by going Pink for a Day will support this vital work.”
