‘The Beards’ is a new name and fresh look given to a top New Zealand production company. Here’s the story behind the rebrand.

Since its founding days in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, Production Company Two Bearded Men has grown, evolved and become renowned across the globe for storytelling of the highest calibre. To reflect their extended offering, they have rebranded as ‘The Beards’ with a fresh look to match.

After developing a new positioning that spoke to their knack for delivering epic & heartfelt tales, ‘The Beards’ engaged the talented folks at Auckland design agency ‘Fuman’ to craft a brand that paid homage to the legendary storytellers who have gone before us. The likes of Aristotle and Plato, who just so happened to don impressive beards of their own.

“Our company started out with just Toby Crawford and I, then organically grew to a collection of talented creatives with skills across a myriad of disciplines. Many lacked the signature facial covering but made up for it with a shared passion for bringing the tales of our people, places and brands to life. Our clients began referring to our team as ‘The Beards’, so it felt only natural to make it official”, says Tim Pierce, Creative Director.

‘The Beards’ are based in a creative studio overlooking the inspiring waters and mountain ranges of Lake Wānaka, offering video production across traditional TVC, digital content, longform, line production, and stills photography, along with a complete suite of in-house equipment.

“Our years of experience in problem solving place us in the perfect position to help businesses and individuals convey their tale to the world, no matter their location. We’re excited to relaunch as ‘The Beards’, a brand that more closely encapsulates our ethos and reflects the high level of creative output from the team”, says Toby Crawford, Managing Director.

The Beards latest showreel can be found on their new website, demonstrating the diversity of work they undertake. Currently fully operational under level 2 with solid remote video feed options for clients & agencies based elsewhere.

Established in 2014, The Beards work alongside agencies and clients to produce branded content, commercials, documentaries and TV series.
