Business lifts our standard of living and makes the way for a better future, says BusinessNZ.
BusinessNZ has published Business – The Beating Heart of New Zealand. The book profiles local companies that are growing jobs, creating profits that are invested and spent in New Zealand, sustainably managing natural resources, contributing to communities, and innovating for future prosperity.
Examples include Hamilton aircraft manufacturer Pacific Aerospace, innovative medical tissue repair product maker Mesynthes, infrastructure giant Opus, red shed retailer The Warehouse, software pioneer Orion and more.
BusinessNZ Chief Executive Phil O’Reilly said businesses were so much a part of life in New Zealand that their contribution could sometimes be overlooked.
“Our financial wellbeing throughout history, including most recently through the global financial crisis, comes from business.
“We depend on the work of enterprising New Zealanders for jobs, investment and strong communities – they are heroes who make a real difference.
“Business is the beating heart of New Zealand,” he said.
