Nelson-based Hybrid Bikes was both surprised and thrilled to receive a prestigious accolade last month at the 2023 Global Brands Magazine Awards.

Hybrid Bikes was announced the “Most Innovative Leader – E-Bike, New Zealand” in recognition of its unwavering commitment to growth, innovation, and excellence within the industry.

The Global Brands Magazine Awards honour companies who have performed extraordinarily well across a number of fields: Finance, Education, Hospitality, Lifestyle, Automobiles, and Technology. They acknowledge key players who “strive for fineness and provide a platform for recognition”.

The awards also aim to identify industry leaders, create awareness about the significance of exceptional service delivery, and reward their performance with the ultimate global recognition.

Frank Witowski, the Managing Director of Nelson-based Hybrid Bikes, feels privileged to have caught the attention of prominent global brands, having received an email from them expressing their congratulations.

Frank is no stranger to winning awards, with Hybrid Bikes taking out a number of titles in recent years, including the Supreme accolade at the 2021 David Awards.

His business also made the Deloitte Fast 50 Index in 2022.

Hybrid Bikes, which manufactures carbon e-bikes to Frank’s own design and engineering specifications, utilises a specialist overseas manufacturer to produce the components.

Then, as each shipping container arrives, he is heavily involved in assembling and dispatching each bike to customers around the country – with an increasing number being sold offshore.
