Women in Governance Awards: Nominations open

 

Women leaders in business will be celebrated and recognised at the Inaugural WOBNZ Women in Governance Awards on the 17th July 2013, at Villa Maria Estate in Auckland. The CEO of Women on Boards NZ, Lesley Whyte, is urging the business community to get behind these awards and nominate women who are displaying excellence in leadership and governance.

Women leaders in business will be celebrated and recognised at the Inaugural WOBNZ Women in Governance Awards on the 17th July 2013, at Villa Maria Estate in Auckland.
The CEO of Women on Boards NZ, Lesley Whyte, is urging the business community to get behind these awards and nominate women who are displaying excellence in leadership and governance.
“We have some amazing women at governance and c-suite level achieving fantastic results for businesses around the country, and it’s time we acknowledged their efforts,” said Whyte. “I urge those who employ high achieving female leaders to nominate these women for one of the seven award categories, to ensure they receive the recognition they deserve,” she said.
“The Women in Governance Awards are also an opportunity for organisations that are actively supporting women in governance to be recognised, and we look forward to nominations for these organisations as well.”
This inaugural event will be launched by Hon Jo Goodhew, Minister of Women’s Affairs. Other Members of Parliament have confirmed their attendance including Sue Moroney; Labour Spokesperson for Women’s Affairs and Tracey Martin NZ First Spokesperson for Women’s Affairs.
“This evening is already being heralded as an outstanding success” said Whyte. “We have managed to secure some amazing sponsors and partners; NEXT magazine who are our major sponsor, Altris Limited, Trelise Cooper Boardroom, and Sport New Zealand.
