A Taranaki software company has launched a free job matching site that gives contractors and employees greater access to work and smooths the hiring process for employers.

When a business needs an employee or contractor with a specific set of skills, competencies and availability, how do they find them?

At the same time if you’re that prospective employee or contractor – aside from trawling through screeds of potentially irrelevant job adverts online, how do you find the jobs?

This specific problem is being addressed by a new skill-matching website called MyConduit, launched on July 1st – the brainchild of Taranaki software company Vistic.

“For 20 years now we’ve provided businesses with software solutions for managing their contract workforce,” says Peter Nunn (pictured), Vostic’s managing director. “MyConduit is the natural extension to that work, allowing individuals to connect with the businesses that are looking for their particular skillset and availability.”

On MyConduit, individuals can store all their employment data (including CVs, references, cover letters, qualifications and competencies) and control who sees this information, switching it on and off for periods when they may or may not be looking for work.

“The other exciting aspect of MyConduit is that training can actually be done within the platform itself,” explains Peter. “So, not only does it skill-match, it also enables people to gain new skills directly from training providers.”

For example, a certificate like First Aid may expire every 24 months, so MyConduit will send you a reminder that this is about to expire, and will provide you with a list of training providers who can update this competency or qualification within the platform.

“MyConduit gives contractors and employees greater access to work. It smooths the process for employers, and makes training and upskilling easier and more accessible. The last few months have dramatically changed the employment landscape and now, more than ever before, the ability to quickly and easily match people with the right skills into jobs will be key to our recovery,” says Peter.

MyConduit is free to join. Go to www.vistic.net for further information.
