With a packed agenda featuring speakers from some of the country’s most successful franchise businesses, the National Franchise conference is a must-attend for those in franchising.

The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Shifting Gears – Prospering in a Changing World’. Grasping and keeping the pace of change is integral in today’s business world. A range of local and international speakers will share their experiences, knowledge and insights, challenging attendees to shift a gear or two.

The Franchise Association of New Zealand CEO Robyn Pickerill says the theme reflects an environment characterised by rapid technological change, which not only challenges franchising but provides immense opportunities.

“The power of technology, artificial intelligence, rising competition, influence of social media, changing consumer needs and the challenges of a new generation of employees and customers are all forces we must acknowledge and deal with. This year’s conference provides the ideal forum for business owners to engage, discuss and take valuable insights back for application in their own environments.”

“All these issues and more must be accounted for; long term prosperity comes from awareness, having a plan and being ready to pivot when market conditions demand it,” says Pickerill.

Delegates will hear from international headline speaker Ed Quinlan, president of a company legendary in franchising circles. With ‘innovation’ among Chem-Dry’s founding principles. the company’s approach of leading ahead of change has stood it in good stead. Under Quinlan’s leadership, Chem-Dry operates in 57 countries with some 4,000 outlets.

For those that view their financial statements as “just numbers”, Steve LeFever, CEO and founder of Profit Mastery will redefine the misconception and show that the numbers are a source for powerful financial intelligence.

“It’s an honour for us to be able to host two phenomenal international guest speakers this year, says Pickerill. Delegates will not only learn from international success stories, there is considerable local talent added to the mix.”

Michelle van Gaalen, MD of Laser Plumbing & Electrical will talk about her experiences and viewpoints of the changing role of leaders in today’s world, while hairdressing legends Rodney Wayne, Founder & Director, and CEO Julie Evans will share their business’ background story and relate how the Rodney Wayne brand stays relevant in today’s world.

There are also other specialty topics within the Round Tables and Workshops to meet many areas of interest in Franchising.

New Zealand celebrity comedian and television personality, Te Radar will take the role of master of ceremonies. Closing the conference will be former All Black Sir John Kirwan who will focus on the ever important topic of mental health.

Taking place 17-19 June at Hamilton’s Claudelands Arena and organised by the Franchise Association of New Zealand, attendance is open to members and non-members.

“This year’s conference is a must-attend for franchisors and key operational personnel who would like to shift a gear or two,” concludes Pickerill.
