As news of redundancies across New Zealand makes headlines, Actualise, a human innovation company, has launched to give people a new way to re-imagine their future career.
Founded by human innovation specialist Melissa Jenner (pictured right) and talent strategist Vic Jack, Actualise is a digital solution for those seeking more from their work. The pair believe it is especially suited to those who have been displaced due to COVID-19 and looking for their next role.
But it’s not just about finding people a new job. As companies rethink how they move forward, it’s about adapting and aligning the right people to a new purpose and in doing so, enabling people to reach their full human potential in the workplace.
“The Actualise platform helps you to understand and articulate new future ‘value’ for yourself, revealing opportunities that you never knew existed,” Jenner says.
“People can be too humble – not knowing what they are good at. We can move them from a place of discomfort or anxiety by delivering support in an innovative way that activates a new direction for their career.”
Actualise has been in development for the past two years, however, as the pandemic started taking a toll on local businesses, Jenner and Jack worked quickly to fast track its release to market.
Using Actualise’s Online Discovery Planner, individuals can learn insights about their experiences, personality, needs, and purpose. Those are then analysed to reveal new and often unexpected capabilities and opportunities – with experienced guides then helping to remove any fear of change.
“We actively behave as guardians and activators in equal measure, ensuring you can take action, are accountable and actively evolve into a new career or build on the one you already started,” Jenner says.
Jenner and Jack are determined to bring impact to as many as people as possible, and so they have deliberately priced their service to open it up to those who might not have previously been able to afford it. With introductory pricing starting at $55 for Actualise Discovery and scaling up to $295 for Actualise Premium, they believe they are making career evolution a reality for everyone.
Very soon, Actualise will also be launching a new CV for their customers. Both Jenner and Jack believe the current CV format is fundamentally broken and doesn’t adequately represent people’s full value.
Actualise’s new CV will work to give a whole view of a person, helping to bring more diversity and removing bias from the recruitment process.
Employers will also benefit from working with Actualise by using their tools for talent assessment and planning to reveal the true capability of their team.
Jack says that knowledge can be used to solve pain points associated with disengagement, attrition, mishires, and strategic misalignment of talent.
“Right now, as businesses are looking to implement efficiencies in the way they work, we can reveal where those opportunities lie, to make sure those businesses are reaching their full human potential.”
