Canterbury owned company HireKING is expanding its operations to include the Central Otago and Southern Lakes districts.
Founded just two years ago, the company, which was today announced as a finalist in The Champion Canterbury Business Awards, has grown rapidly on the back of a boom in Canterbury’s residential construction sector as the region rebuilds after the earthquakes.
One of its core services is providing clean, new and regularly serviced portable toilets for building sites and events.
HireKING Director Tim Aldridge says it’s proven a popular service.
“We started with just 70 toilets in 2014 – we will soon have over 1,000.”
The company is opening a new division in Cromwell to help meet the demand of the rapidly growing residential construction sector in and around Queenstown.
“We have shipped twelve containers of toilets and temporary fencing, priced at half a million dollars, to the region and hope to introduce our general hire products – from chainsaws to concrete cutters – down the track.”
Tim Aldridge says the Queenstown construction sector will appreciate the benefits of the company’s superior portable toilets and temporary fences.
“We know exactly what Queenstown tradies will need as they work on the residential construction boom, having helped hundreds find relief during the Canterbury rebuild,” says Tim Aldridge.
“We pride ourselves on offering the best toilet cleaning service in the market,” says Tim. “Working on building sites can be hard work, especially in winter, and that extra touch of comfort can go a long way.”
Over the last two years HireKING has invested $3.25 million in equipment and buildings in Christchurch. On top of the $500,000 committed to servicing the Queenstown market, the company plans to spend an additional $1 million in equipment across both regions next year.
HireKING currently employs 16 people in Christchurch, with more jobs being created in Canterbury, Central Otago and the Southern Lakes regions as the business continues to expand.
