House moving hassles are about to become a thing of the past, thanks to a new, online change of address service called iMoved.me
The free, online service offers a secure mail platform to enter current and new address details with ability to pick or add any number of businesses, memberships and family and friends contacts, and update those services and contacts quickly and securely with your new postal address.
iMoved was developed by frequent mover Kit Greer who having moved a dozen times over the last few years, was feeling frustrated that there was no easy solution to update new address details with service providers.
"I move on a regular basis, sometimes down to being a renter and having tenancies end, other times from moving around the country for work. Whatever the reason, updating contact details with service providers is a tiresome job that takes ages. There really hasn't been any easy way to do it. Even in the UK, there is a sort of change of address service, but they end up sending you a bunch of paper forms to fill out and post yourself, there's nothing online that can be done swiftly and when you've got packing and movers to sort out, who has time for posting a bunch of forms to update address details?"
Kit's focus on watertight security was paramount for the build. "I've got my own personal details through the site and I'm very particular about who has my details" he said. "We worked with Cyber Research to triple test the service to make sure everyone's personal information is completely safe."
iMoved has had a soft launch, with options to enter email contacts of services to update postal details. Larger organisations, such as utilities, gyms and insurance companies have indicated they will join through a secure API key in coming months.
