NZ Rent A Car (Nelson) has now added several prestige vehicles to its rental fleet, just in time for summer adventures in the region and beyond.

“We know that Nelson is already associated with classic cars for many people,” says Hamish Pirie, owner of NZ Rent A Car (Nelson). “Nelson’s Classic Car Museum is a must-see destination for many when they come here.

“Offering an opportunity for people to get behind the wheel of a prestige vehicle adds to our city’s appeal for car lovers. Some of our prestige fleet are classics but others are more recent examples of stylish, high performance vehicles. What they all have in common is that they make getting behind the wheel and driving memorable for visitors and locals.”

Prestige rental vehicles currently available include a Porsche 911 Carrera, a Ford Mustang V8, an F-Type Jaguar, an immaculately restored vintage VW Beetle, a Mercedes convertible, a Fraser Clubman, and a Land Rover Defender with more head-turning vehicles still to be added to the fleet.

Feedback about the idea has been extremely positive, says Hamish, with car lovers welcoming the chance to elevate their rental car experience.

“One person on Facebook was very keen and commented with his wish list of prestige rental cars before saying  ‘driving most rentals kills my soul’!

“All kinds of rental vehicles have their place, but we certainly know how driving a car with beautiful styling and performance takes being on our roads to a whole other level.

“We think a wide range of people will enjoy being able to add being in a beautiful car to a special holiday or occasion. We’re looking forward to helping create those happy memories for car enthusiasts.”

People arriving at Nelson Airport will be able to see some of the vehicles on offer in car parks by the terminal building, says Hamish.

“We think they’re going to be a head turner both on and off the road. We can’t wait to see people enjoying them and sharing their experiences with friends and family.”

Nelson Airport chief executive Brendan Cook said the prestige car rental offer at the airport was a great option for those wishing to travel in style. “We think it’s going to be very popular and adds something a bit special to the great services and facilities on offer here for our visitors.”

NZ Rent A Car (Nelson) also provides a convenient and affordable car rental from Nelson to Christchurch, ideal for business trips, holiday travel, or cross-island road journeys.
