What is profit leakage? One explanation directly relates to the excess time spent reconciling the monthly invoices. Another could be purchases made for a client project but not invoiced through to the client.

We all know reconciling monthly accounts is a tedious task, but now there is another way for business owners to save time and manage their work-related purchasing – it’s called Tracman Mobile PO. Following three years of development and beta testing, the Tracman ‘Purchasing Gone Mobile’ app is available for iOS and Android.

Tracman CEO Phil van Loghem explains, “Saving time and money on reconciliations each month, Tracman resolves issues that you probably didn’t know you had. You simply download, install and then start using. Your team gains instant oversight via a concise web-based Backoffice Dashboard.”

Designed to move the purchasing process from a written order book onto mobile, Tracman initially focused on the construction and demolition industries, but is expandable into many business areas.

“It’s the only mobile purchasing platform which includes a hire and return of equipment function,” states Phil, adding, “Warnings alert staff that it’s time to take equipment back too – stopping extra charges or penalties.

“Tracman is not intended as an accounting package” states Phil, “It’s designed to streamline the purchase process and provide business owners with budgetary control.”

This is quite different to other project management platforms, yet complements them – and integration with Xero is underway.
Many companies don’t consider the real cost of each purchase, Phil says. “From the actual labour time to buy, to the resulting administration per invoice, let alone if there were anomalies – this is the ‘leaking profit’ that Tracman can reduce.

“All this, plus the data added stays put – so we know time saved is money made,” he says.
