Programme: The Waikato MBA – Master of Business Administration
Intake date: March 2024 (with options to start in May or July).
Part-time or full-time: Part-time on alternate Saturdays (8.30am-5.00pm) plus online midweek sessions 6pm-9pm.
Duration: Two years’ part-time study, designed to fit around fulltime work. Options to spread the programme over 3-4 years.
Programme vision: The Waikato MBA is a life-changing qualification that develops confident business leaders who are capable of leading teams and organisations through complex challenges. Learn how to drive continuous innovation and growth, engage with international markets, adapt to changing contexts, and seize new opportunities.

The programme is ideal for middle managers or technical specialists who are ready to advance into more senior roles, and business owners who want to take their company to the next level.

Assignments are focused on real business problems and provide insights that will add immediate value to your own organisation.

Highlights include the MBA Case Competition, the High-Impact Project, and the International Study Tour.

Strengths and emphasis:

Face-to-face interaction is the cornerstone of the Waikato MBA programme. This drives the high-quality learning and relationships between students and our team of top business lecturers and industry guest speakers. Leadership and career development papers are based on a coaching approach to facilitate deep personal growth.

Admission criteria:

  • A bachelor’s degree or professional qualification with at least a B-grade average, and at least 3 years’ experience of managing
    people, projects or processes.
  • OR at least 7 years’ management work experience.
