ROXBOX, the pioneering creator of educational crystal mining buckets, is making waves in the toy industry with its exceptional growth and unique product offerings.

In just six months since its launch in May 2023, Kiwi company ROXBOX has experienced an incredible surge in demand, witnessing a staggering 380 percent increase in revenue over the past two months alone.

The company’s flagship crystal mining buckets, ‘The Crystal Mining Starter Box’ and ‘build-a-BOX,’ have captured the imagination of children aged 3-12. Unearthing crystals, coupled with the thrill of discovery, has made ROXBOX a go-to gift for parents seeking both fun and learning opportunities for their kids.

“Our mission is to merge education and play seamlessly,” says Fiona Nagy (pictured), the Dutch-Australian founder behind this innovative brand. “We’re thrilled to see the overwhelming response from our customers, fostering curiosity and wonder in children through the exploration of the natural world.”

Despite significant success, ROXBOX remains a labour of love, with all products meticulously assembled by hand in Fiona’s workshop. This personal touch ensures every ROXBOX experience is unique, driving customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Born out of a fascination with sciences

ROXBOX is a culmination of lifelong passion and expertise in both science and marketing. Fiona’s fascination with the sciences, instilled at a young age by her geologist father, laid the foundation for her unquenchable thirst for knowledge.

“Science was my playground from the beginning,” reflects Fiona. “I found myself exploring various scientific disciplines throughout my academic journey, driven by an insatiable curiosity about the natural world.”

Fiona’s academic prowess led her to graduate with four degrees spanning geology, geography, ecology, marine science, and biology. Her diverse educational background merged seamlessly with her professional journey in marketing at esteemed companies, including Manuka Health, SRW Laboratories, Fonterra, and Afirmo.

However, a turning point arrived in early 2023 when Fiona faced redundancy. This pivotal moment prompted her to reflect on her lifelong passion for science and her extensive marketing experience, culminating in the birth of ROXBOX.

“ROXBOX is my way of sharing the excitement and wonder of scientific discovery with children,” says Fiona. “It’s about igniting that spark of curiosity and fostering a love for learning, especially about the natural world.”

As Fiona continues to balance her commitment to the company with two part-time jobs, she remains steadfast in her dedication to crafting each crystal mining experience by hand. Her dedication ensures that ROXBOX delivers not just toys but captivating educational adventures that resonate with children and parents alike.
