The team at kiwi company, SleepDrops, have been sleeping soundly since their win at the North Shore Westpac Auckland Business Awards 2014 for Best Emerging Business.
The natural sleep remedy company was presented with the award at a gala dinner and ceremony at the Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna last month which was attended by 14 other North Shore businesses who were also in line for honours.
The win is recognition of the phenomenal growth SleepDrops has seen since it was established in 2012.
“Since SleepDrops launched the business has rapidly expanded year on year, within the first 8 months our products were available at over 900 stockists across the country and it’s grown from a one man-band to a team of six employees,” says Kirsten Taylor, Founder and Director of SleepDrops.
“We find it hard to keep up with demand and are already exporting to several markets outside of New Zealand.”
Taylor, a sleep and stress specialist, naturopath and qualified sleep clinician attributes the company’s success to an overwhelming demand from people wanting help to combat insomnia and other sleep related issues.
The products incorporate carefully selected herbs, homeopathics, nutritionals and flower essences– all in specific doses to restore the natural balance in a person’s nervous system, making it perfect for those on medication or people who don’t want to risk taking dependency inducing drugs such as sleeping pills.
Auckland Chamber of Commerce CEO Michael Barnett congratulates SleepDrops on its success.
“This is a tremendous example of a business that has identified a niche product, worked closely with its customers to enhance its offering and who fully deserve the success that has come from managing their rapid growth into larger markets,” says Barnett.
Taylor’s underlying goal from day one was to help adults, children and babies have a better night sleep.
“SleepDrops has answered a growing need and we’ll continue to help improve people’s quality of life,” says Taylor.
