The National Pacific Business Trust Awards return on Friday, 28 October, and nominations close 31 August. Run by the Pacific Business Trust (PBT), the awards have been staged nine times since 1993.

PBT Chair Fa’amatuainu (Inu) Tino Pereira says the time is right to celebrate successes in Pacific business, including established businesses that have weathered challenging economic conditions and the new wave of Pacific entrepreneurs coming through.
“Bringing the awards back for the first time since 2010 shows there are genuine success stories in Pacific business. The aim is to acknowledge and celebrate while inspiring others,” he says.

The National Pacific Business Trust Awards provide a unique platform to celebrate Pacific business success, focus on growth and sustainability of Pacific enterprises and recognise innovation. They celebrate the growing number of Pacific entrepreneurs and established businesses that contribute positively to the health of the NZ economy.
2016 also marks more than 30 years since the establishment of PBT.

There are eight award categories, including:
•    Pacific Business Executive Award
•    Pacific Entrepreneur Award
•    Pacific Business Woman Award
•    Pacific Social Enterprise Award
•    Pacific Innovation Award
•    Pacific Business Enterprise Award
•    Pacific Employer Award
•    Pacific Exporter Award
A supreme winner will be selected from the eight category winners.

Previous winners of note include Mike Pero Mortgages, Siose Niuhulu of Panorama Painters & Decorators Ltd (now Panorama Group), Adrian Orr (as former Westpac Trust Chief Economist), The Laughing Samoans, MENA and Vinod Kumar of Magsons Hardware, which own the Mega Mitre 10 stores in Henderson and Botany.

Nominations for the 2016 National Pacific Business Trust Awards are now open and close on Wednesday 31 August 2016. Go to www.pacificbusinessawards.co.nz
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Auckland on Friday 28 October 2016.
