After an extensive international search, award winning boutique vineyard Chateau Waimarama, has lured leading Bordeaux wine consultant Ludwig Vanneron half way across the world to be its wine specialist.

Ludwig Vannerons’ stellar career has seen him work in prestigious and major wine areas of Bordeaux, managing the winemaking process in estates from small chateau Bordeaux appellation properties to great classified growths.
This includes Medoc Chateau such as Chateau Leoville Poyferee, Chateau Malescot St-Exupery, Chateau La Tour Carnet and Chateau Pontet-Canet. Chateau de Fieuzal and Chateau Pape Clement, in Pomerol, Chateau Clinet, as well as Chateau Gracia in Saint-Emilion to name but a few he has consulted to.
Mr Vanneron graduated from Bordeaux University with an Oenology degree; he has a Masters in Chemistry, and for the last 18 years has been based at St Emilion, the epicenter of Bordeaux, arguably the greatest wine region in the world.
In 2011, he founded Oenosmart, a company with the vision to provide expertise in wine and vine consultancy around the world. He is passionate about making truly remarkable wines and believes strongly in understanding the terroir and working alongside the dedicated team in the vineyards he operates out of.
Chase Arquette, managing director of Chateau Waimarama is extremely delighted to have someone of Mr Vannerons’ calibre on the team.
“Securing someone of Mr Vanneron’s extraordinary talents is a real coup for Chateau Waimarama.
Our intention is to become one of the world’s top 50 estates known for its red wine and to achieve this we needing someone out of the ordinary and we believe Ludwig has the experience to help us achieve this goal. ”
“There is no doubt that Ludwig Vanneron has the credentials to take Chateau Waimarama to that next level, his expertise is second to none and he will bring a wealth of experience to our wine making team.” Mr Arquette said.
Established in 1988, Chateau Waimarama produces ultra-premium wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah mainly for the export market, but wines are also found in Luxury hotels within New Zealand.
