LSKD expands NZ footprint with new Christchurch store

Australasian activewear brand LSKD is set to launch its first store in Christchurch on Saturday, 1 March 2025, following the success of its Takapuna store opening in November last year.

The new store, located at 231 High Street in Christchurch Central, marks another milestone for the fast-growing brand, which is known for its high-performance activewear and strong community connections.

LSKD CEO and Founder Jason Daniel is excited about the expansion into Christchurch, following what he describes as the brand’s most successful launch to date in Takapuna.

“Takapuna’s opening was the largest and most successful launch we’ve ever had, with Kiwis turning out in droves to support us. It’s clear there’s a deep connection between New Zealand and LSKD, and we can’t wait to bring that same energy to Christchurch,” says Daniel.

With over $10 million in online sales to Kiwi customers before even opening a physical store, LSKD has already built a strong presence in New Zealand.

“Opening a store in Christchurch allows us to connect with the community on a deeper level,” Daniel says.

“We’re passionate about creating spaces where people can experience the brand firsthand and feel part of the LSKD movement.”

Founded by Daniel, a former BMX freestyle and motocross rider, LSKD has evolved from selling T-shirts and stickers trackside to becoming a globally recognised brand with over $100 million in sales.

Daniel’s passion for functional fitness has shaped LSKD’s commitment to sport, adventure, and personal excellence, encapsulated in its motto: “Be 1% better every day.”

The Christchurch store will offer LSKD’s full range of high-performance activewear, designed to support sport, fitness, and everyday adventures. Customers can also look forward to exclusive grand opening events, including a tights and shorts swap – an initiative encouraging customers to trade in pre-loved activewear for brand-new LSKD pieces, promoting sustainability through the brand’s Project Earth programme. The initiative was a standout success at the Takapuna opening, attracting hundreds of participants.

LSKD’s approach to business extends beyond retail. The brand is committed to hiring locally, supporting New Zealand athletes, and fostering a culture of active living. Inspired by Kiwi sporting legends like the All Blacks, LSKD incorporates values of teamwork, resilience, and leadership into its operations, even training staff using insights from the bestselling book Legacy by James Kerr, which explores the winning culture of the All Blacks.

“New Zealand has such a rich sporting heritage and a passion for excellence, and we’re honoured to be part of that story,” says Daniel.

“Christchurch is a hub for active, driven individuals, and we can’t wait to see how this community embraces LSKD.”

To celebrate the Christchurch launch, LSKD will also release limited-edition Christchurch-themed merchandise and offer special promotions and in-store surprises throughout the opening weekend.
