Quiet-Revolution is a clever solution to a world-wide problem. It is a single-person booth, allowing office workers to find a haven for privacy and focus, without having to hide in stairwells or tie up expensive meeting rooms.

“In a busy and vibrant open plan office, sometimes you just need to make a phone call or collect your thoughts” says Tod Crosby, Managing Director of infunc, the company that is marketing this Kiwi innovation. “Employers are becoming more and more conscious of the need to provide a variety of workspace environments, in order to recruit and maintain a collaborative and engaged workforce.”

When workers need to escape the noise and distractions of the workplace environment for short periods of time, they no longer need to leave the office. The Quiet-Revolution allows the user to sit, spin and become completely enclosed. “This is the first product on the market that offers a single-occupant a full 360 degrees of privacy” Crosby says.

True to its namesake, the product is quietly creating a revolution of its own. Crosby says that Quiet-Revolution was initially launched about a year ago, but the company recently released a larger version with a fold down desk, power and USB charging. “When we launched the original 1.0 phone booth, the market loved the idea. But our 2.0 model is what everyone has been keenly anticipating. All of a sudden, we’re seeing enquiry from some very high profile companies”.
The larger booth takes Quiet-Revolution from being a phone booth, useful for 20 – 30 minutes of privacy, to a much more versatile focus booth capable of accommodating an hour or more of concentrated work.

Crosby says that infunc sees huge potential overseas: “The problem we are solving is universal. Open plan offices are the norm throughout the world and regardless of culture, everyone needs privacy and to be able to focus from time to time.”
Quiet-Revolution was launched in to Singapore in September and according to Crosby, it is being received extremely well: “We are seeing enquiries from some real bluechip global brands and that is very exciting for us!”. The infunc team will be launching Quiet-Revolution in Australia in the New Year and have already been asked to launch in to China.

Crosby believes the rapidly growing global interest is a testament to not only smart contemporary design and how well the product solves a market need, but also how receptive overseas markets are to Kiwi innovation.
