International recognition for Nelson leadership blogger

Nelson-based leadership blogger Suzi McAlpine’s blog The Leader’s Digest has been named by US company MP Star Financial as one of the Top 25 [international] Leadership Blogs for Small Businesses. 

McAlpine’s blog is the only New Zealand blog named on the list, which appears alongside others such as Lolly Daskal’s globally renowned Lead from Within, which has 1.27 million Twitter followers. 

McAlpine says that she is thrilled The Leader’s Digest has been acknowledged in this way. “Leadership can be a tough, awesome, lonely and connecting journey – sometimes seemingly all at once. I’m glad my blog is resonating for leaders and offers something up of value. A big thank you to my readers and followers.”

The Leader’s Digest has previously been named in other international ranking lists including Charles Specht’s 50 Top Leadership Bloggers, The Top 200 Leadership Blogs for Executives, Managers and CEOs, and James Strock’s Among the Best 21st Century Leadership Blogs. These awards are based on the sites’ Alexa rankings which are based on traffic and user numbers to websites over a rolling three month period (multiple requests for the same URL on the same day by the same user are counted as a single pageview). As of March 2017, The Leader’s Digest has an Alexa ranking of 2,172,348.

In addition to writing The Leader’s Digest, McAlpine travels extensively throughout New Zealand providing leadership coaching and speaking to CEOs, managers and business executives, as well as facilitating workshops. She has also developed a unique leadership phone app which was the first of its kind in New Zealand, to accompany her blog.
