Sometimes we see products solving a problem no one has discovered but the new Epson Eco Tank Pro ET-16600 definitely solves a problem many offices may have – and even more so now that many staff are working from home.

Large corporate MFP (Multi-function printers) that provide printing, scanning, faxing and copying are great for a medium to large office, these usually come with a service contract and reasonable per page rates to cover consumables. For a smaller or home office the choices were inkjet or small laser MFP unit’s, but these came with very high running costs for more than small usage. Epson now has a range of Eco Tank printers that bridge this gap with much lower consumable costs by virtue of the refillable ink tanks. At the same time they have the functionality people expect from a home style printer with built in wi-fi etc. The ET-16600 expands on this to provide A3 print, copy and scan functionality.

The ET-16600 includes enough ink to print up to 4,500 pages in black and 2,800 pages in colour straight out of the box. It can print up to 25 ppm for B+W and 12 ppm for Colour and has a 500-sheet paper capacity. It has a 50-sheet ADF. Replacement ink bottles are around $20 for each colour and $35 for Black (7,500 pages yield)

It comes loaded with connectivity convenience in the form of Epson Connect which enables you to print wirelessly from your iPad, iPhone or Android tablet or smartphone. You can also easily print documents, photos, emails and web pages while in your home, office or on the road and can scan your documents and save them to the cloud for access anytime, anywhere too. It also supports Google Cloud print from Gmail or Google Drive.
