Projectors take productivity to new heights

MeetingMate interactive ultra-short throw projectors are an exciting example of how smart technology can drive efficient, productive meetings in 2017.
There was a time when advances in projector technology were measured in simple yardsticks such as lamp brightness and bulb longevity.
How times have changed.
As Epson’s EB-1400 Series of interactive projectors demonstrates, the technology is now about connecting people, technology and ideas into a seamless digital experience, and enabling better communication by turning any whiteboard or flat surface into an interactive area.
If you’ve been longing to ditch that clunky whiteboard, and enjoy the benefits of sharing presentations and training material with a number of employees in other locations – then it’s worth checking out Epson MeetingMate projectors.
These finger-touch interactive ultra-short throw projectors redefine the boundaries of workplace collaboration (short-throw meaning the elimination of presenter shadowing on screen and eye glare).
Meeting participants can now use a finger to conveniently draw on and annotate projected contents on-screen to show new ideas or emphasise key points.
They can also enjoy an improved navigational experience by using finger gestures such as swipe, flick, press and tap and pinch zoom – all to control the on-screen contents.
The EB-1400 series projectors deliver multi-location interactive capabilities that allow users in separate offices to connect via the Internet and share annotations made on their respective projectors.
The Whiteboard Share function provides even more engagement and participation, as content from the projector’s whiteboard mode can be shared with participants through a URL link that can be accessed by PC or smart device. Up to 15 devices can be connected at any one time, which means meeting participants can play a more active role during discussions.
And, of course, the projectors allow participants to capture, save, print or email – all without a PC.
Epson’s famous 3LCD, 3-Chip technology equates to both high colour brightness and high white brightness. In fact, Epson projectors have up to three times brighter colours than competing 1-chip DLP projectors (based on NPD data, June 2013 through May 2014).
Offering a brightness of up to 4,400 lumens the screen can be viewed easily from anywhere in the room, without the need to dim the lights.
Mobile connection
Epson’s free iProjection app lets meeting participants wirelessly display content from their iOS or Android mobile device on a MeetingMate projector. That can include sending files from an email or cloud storage account direct to the app, for displaying via the projector.
Other productivity capabilities include:
- Advancing through PowerPoint or Keynote presentations (iOS only).
- Viewing Word documents or Excel spreadsheets (iOS only).
- Zooming in and out of PDFs (iOS and Android).
- Projecting web pages and viewing brilliant, high-quality images.
- Controlling interactive display features with just a touch of your device screen, and
- Easily pairing your device with the interactive display via a QR code (select models only).
Productivity may be a key word to describe these projectors – but so is flexibility.
MeetingMates allow users to transform traditional dry-erase whiteboards, plain walls and even tables into digital surfaces. Just pick up the pen and start writing. Or, use your finger to draw, share and interact, as well as add pages, or insert shapes and images.
The model EB-1450Ui and EB-1460Ui are available in New Zealand, retailing at $3,999 and $4,399 respectively.
