At CES on January 7th, Toshiba unveiled its premium, sleek and ultra-lightweight, Toshiba Chromebook – the first device of its kind to feature a 13.3-inch diagonal HD display.
As Toshiba's first entry into the growing Chromebook market, the robust and lightning-fast Toshiba Chromebook is powered by a Haswell-based Intel® Celeron™ processor plus 2GB of RAM and a 16GB solid state drive deliver versatile performance, ultra-fast start up time and a long battery life of up to nine hours.
The 13.3-inch diagonal HD TruBrite™ display with a native 1366 x 768 screen resolution, offers more room for web browsing, document creation, video chatting and apps than a tablet and is better suited for productivity – just like a notebook.
The new Toshiba Chromebook was designed from the ground up, weighing just 1.5 kg and features a slim 2.02cm profile that sports a sleek new design with a textured finish. An everyday cloud companion, the device is equipped with 100GB Google drive storage out of the box, enabling a storage place for files and media that can be easily synced, shared and accessed across other smartphone and computing devices.
This Chromebook is also equipped with notebook essentials for greater usability, including two USB 3.0 ports, a full-size HDMI® port, security lock slot and a memory card reader, plus Bluetooth® 4.0 and inbuilt Wi-Fi™.
Local pricing, availability and review units for the Toshiba Chromebook in New Zealand will be confirmed shortly.
