One of the world’s most famous hotel brands has landed in Christchurch with the Chateau on the Park Hotel opposite Hagley Park on Deans Avenue, now a DoubleTree by Hilton.

The hotel will strengthen Hilton’s presence in New Zealand, which includes four existing hotels in Auckland, Taupo and Queenstown.

Christchurch’s strong tourism market was the key driver for bringing the brand to the city.
Christchurch is an important hub for both business travellers and leisure tourism in New Zealand.

The 192 room hotel has been extensively refurbished to ensure it meets the exceptional standards of the DoubleTree by Hilton brand. A second phase of the refurbishment is due to be completed mid-1017. Hotel facilities include a restaurant, bar, meeting rooms, a business centre, pool and gym.

Christchurch and Canterbury Tourism is excited that a premium brand such as Hilton has chosen The Chateau on the Park to become part of its hotel chain. It signals to prospective visitors that Christchurch is a destination, not just a gateway to the rest of the South Island.

DoubleTree by Hilton is Hilton Worldwide’s fastest growing full service brand and offers 400 properties in 33 countries and territories. Singapore company M&L Hospitality has the property management agreement.
